Support Finance Manager with day-to-day operations of the finance function
Maintain accurate records of member equity contributions and prepare member equity reports for the board of directors
Act as backup for AP processing, review and enter invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely, accurate payment runs
Assist in clean up and reconciliation of legacy accounting data prior to transition to new accounting system, documenting procedures and ensuring readiness for go-live
Provide daily support and oversight to accounting clerk balancing, reviewing
Review unresolved balancing variances and escalate as needed, conducting spot checks to ensure compliance and accuracy
Assist with periodic reviews of financial transactions to ensure proper coding and documentation
Provide support in yearend close process
Who you are:
You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
You have a minimum of 6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a retail setting with multi-unit operations
You demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends
You have the ability to identify issues and problem solve
You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
You have sound technical accounting knowledge with a good understanding of ASPE framework
You are highly proficient in the Microsoft suite and Outlook
You have proven effective communication skills, both verbal and written
You have the ability to work independently as well as part of a Team
