Earl Haig Community Daycare is located at 15 Earl Haig Ave in the fabulous East York/Upper Beaches community. We are a not-for-profit centre, licensed for 279 children ranging from newborn through age 10. We operate Monday through Friday, from 7:30am - 6:00 PM.
We are seeking 2 passionate Assistant Early Childhood Educators(ECA's) to join our team. As an ECA, you will play a crucial role in providing a nurturing and educational environment for young children. Working with your room partner/partners you will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, implementing age-appropriate activities, and fostering the social and intellectual development of each child.
Duties:
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and promote learning and development in areas such as language, math, science, and social skills,
Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior,
Provide individualized attention to each child to support their unique needs and learning styles,
Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education,
Monitor and assess each child's progress, keeping detailed records of their achievements and areas for improvement,
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment,
Follow all health and safety regulations,
adhere to AQI and CCEYA guidelines.
Qualifications:
Be proficient in English (both written and verbal)
Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
Experience working with children in an educational setting
Excellent organizational and time management skills
be familiar with AQI and HDLH principles, as well as the CCEYA requirements
Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Strong leadership skills to effectively guide and motivate children
CPR-C/First Aid Certificate
be vaccinated against COVID-19
Provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check that has been completed in the last 6 months, OR conduct a new check

Base pay for ECA's is $20.64, and is supplemented twice a year through the Provincial Wage Enhancement program. The two positions are both split shifts, ranging from . Depending on the age group or program that the split shift is in, a typical example of a split shift is 7:30-10:30 and 2:00-6:00.
