OCI Systems is seeking a skilled and motivated Security Technician to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about security systems, access control, and low-voltage technologies, this is an excellent opportunity to grow within the industry. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and servicing of security, access control and CCTV systems.

This role involves working with a variety of security technologies, including access controllers, surveillance systems, intercoms, and networking equipment. The Technician will work closely with clients to deliver high-quality service and support.

Key Responsibilities

Install, wire, program, and troubleshoot access control systems, CCTV, intercoms, and networking equipment. Configure and program IP-based security cameras, network video recorders, and video management systems. Prepare and collect technical documentation, including system details, configurations, and credential management. Maintain and service security infrastructure in commercial and multi-family residential environments. Ensure installations meet codes and industry standards for low-voltage security systems. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion while adhering to safety standards. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns during installation processes. Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls for future reference. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology relevant to installation practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Advanced knowledge of access control systems, including wiring controllers, programming, and troubleshooting with hands-on experience in installation or maintenance roles. Experience with Mircom and ICT access control systems strongly preferred. Strong understanding of wiring logic and best practices in low-voltage security installations. Knowledge of networking principles particularly for security and surveillance systems. Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to low-voltage systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and system diagrams. Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting purposes. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members. Ability to work independently while maintaining clear and professional communication with clients and colleagues. Professionally fluent in English.

Licenses & Certifications

BC Driver's License (Class 5 or higher) required. Trades Qualification and/or Field Safety Representative certificates an asset.

Pay: $27.00-$39.00 per hour
