Fibertel is excited to offer an opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated, detail-oriented Senior Security Systems Technician with a strong focus on customer service, to join our growing team in Calgary. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about leadership and has an extensive experience in security systems and protocols, strong communication and collaboration skills, and be able to think critically and creatively to solve complex technical issues. This candidate will help to shape and grow our Security Division in Calgary.   • Work with both Project and Service team members to install, program, commission and/or repair a variety of systems (Intrusion, Access Control, Surveillance, Intercom)
  • To provide exceptional customer relations to both external and internal clients.
  • Meet with Project Managers to identify: Scope(s) of Work, potential project risks, cost control measures, completion deadlines and end documentation.
  • Creation or Maintenance of related project or site documentation
  • Maintenance and inventory of materials, supplies and equipment \xe2\x80\x93 on site or in vehicle.
  • Organization and time management of tasks as assigned, including effectively working on multiple projects and managing multiple technicians.
  • Effective mentorship of technicians \xe2\x80\x9cin-training\xe2\x80\x9d
Skill Set
  • Ability to test, troubleshoot and/or repair, low voltage circuits and devices using a multi-meter or other test equipment.
  • Strong IPv4 networking, must be comfortable navigating and working within new and existing client networks.
  • Ability to read and interpret, manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints or other related documents.
  • Solid understanding of IP CCTV, VMS, Access Control, Intercom, and Intrusion alarm technologies.
  • Solid understanding of low voltage, DC Electrical theory (typically 12 \xe2\x80\x93 24 VDC), and relay logic.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office \xe2\x80\x93 Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Possess the willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Project coordination and manpower management skills
  • Self-motivated, positive, and professional attitude.
Required Experience
  • 3 \xe2\x80\x93 10 Years Commercial installation or service experience, in a relevant industry
  • Working knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
Additional Requirements
  • Possess a valid class 5 operators license.
  • Ability to work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs as required.
  • Travel and some out-of-town work will be required.
  • Opportunities for long-term out of town work
  • Ability to work varying shifts as required.
