Our training programs are also a leader in the security industry, and they will help prepare you for advancements, as well as build your resume for a potential career in law enforcement.Job Skills / RequirementsPosition: Security SupervisorSite: Telus - Hood RoadCity: 650 Hood Road - MarkhamStatus: Full Time - DaysHours: 0600-1400Pay Rate: $21.20 /hr.Reporting to the Security Programs Manager, the Site Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and direction of all officers assigned to the site, including training and site orientation of all new officers. The Site Supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining the daily operation of the site schedule as well as additional tasks as requested by the Site Manager.Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the security staff assigned to the site and act as a resource for security issues in accordance with PSG standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure guidelines and standards for security staff are adhered to.
  • Serve as a link between tenants, members of the public, Paladin Security management and Property Management.
  • Supervise and assist all regular officers with responsibilities delegated to them.
  • Ensure all incident reports are completed into Tracktik, and follow up with inaccuracies or omissions.
  • Compile accurate statistics and complete audits on a monthly basis
  • Conduct site orientation and training of new officers, ensuring site orientation packages and officer review tests are completed within the allotted training period. Monitor performance and behaviour of officers and document where standards are not being met.
  • Draw up and maintain a departmental site and training schedule, ensuring that all shifts are covered. Assist with shift coverage where needed, and maintain and update WinTeam regularly.
  • Will arrange coverage for any open shifts due to last minute book offs, medical emergencies, etc.
  • Candidate will be expected to be on-call and respond during time off for serious issues and incidents.
  • Required to perform site patrols and desk duty as well as responding to all necessary calls.
  • Conduct investigations when incidents and situations occur as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring all officers have read and signed off on all Paladin Health and Safety Policy/Procedures and to ensure all accidents are reported in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:Preferred 1 year of supervisory security experience or a combination of relevant experience and education; including successful completion of Paladin Supervisor Training or the willingness to complete said training.Preference will be given to candidates already acting in a Supervisory role at present or who have acted in this capacity in recent history.Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, delegate and solving complex problems.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure;
  • Excellent customer service and observation skills;
  • Strong Knowledge of Access Control, Fire Control, CCTV and other site related systems.
  • Fluency in English (both oral and written) and ability to communicate effectively;
  • Excellent report-writing and note-taking skills;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Excellent dress and deportment;
  • Conflict Resolution skills;
  • Prior Supervisory experience
