To provide guidance and leadership under the Security Manager's direction to security guards on their shift, ensuring the security of casino assets, the casino facilities, employees, volunteer workers, and guests. Security supervisors will ensure that all members of the Security team consistently, diplomatically, and professionally maintain good relations with patrons, as well as fellow staff and see to that all duties are successfully accomplished following Alberta Gaming and Liquor commissions terms and conditions, operating guidelines, and century casino policy and procedures. Security Supervisors will act in compliance with local, provincial, and federal laws. To comply with, maintain and inform customers and staff members of safety and security policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment. Security Supervisors are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed.
Executes assigned duties positively and professionally according to Century terms and conditions, operating guidelines, and established policies as per the security policy and procedures manual.
Provides direction and guidance to security personnel in compliance with safety procedures, including identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing managers of any noted unsafe issues or practices.
Provides prompt, courteous, and friendly service to patrons, fellow employees and ensures all under supervision meet the same standards of expectations regarding customer service.
Ensures team members are knowledgeable in policy and procedures, orientation materials, and internal security memorandums and relevant sections of casino terms and conditions and operating guidelines by assisting in developing subordinates and providing the manager with current evaluations and feedback.
Escorts the transfers of money/assets throughout the casino on frequently, ensuring that all monies and chips are safeguarded following all policies.
Ensures only authorized personnel gain access to restricted areas including bank, slot cages, offices, and count rooms, with or without an escort as needed.
Leads investigations of occurrences by interviewing witnesses on incidents that occur, according to policy and procedures manual by asking questions, taking, and analyzing statements, securing, and reporting evidence as directed, and making accurate records and documenting accordingly.
Liaises with senior management, general managers, slot managers, and pit managers to provide advice and assistance.
Demonstrates knowledge concerning key storage, usage, and assigning of keys to appropriate individuals.
Leads staff to respond to and provide emergency crowd control in specified situations within the facility according to the Century terms and conditions, operating guidelines and the security policy and procedures manual.
Acts to minimize risks to guests, staff, and fellow team members.
Ensures that hourly patron counts, hotel checks, and parking patrols and counts are done when required as per the policy and procedures manual.
Provides written discrepancy and infractions reports and reports violations to security policies and procedures as required.
Liaises with local police service and gaming authorities regarding calls for service and any serious occurrences offering aid and investigation notables.
Patrols the property as directed, including customer and staff vehicles, to ensure patrons' and employees' safety and security and comply with security policy and procedures.
Ensures the opening and securing of safes as needed.
Assists the manager and other supervisors in scheduling shifts, employee evaluations and special projects as needed.
Notifies monitor personnel of any unusual or irregular activities taking place inside the Casino premise.
Have an understanding of the use of surveillance equipment and usage in case of emergency.
Ensures the maintenance of logbooks and records of individuals who have been banned, banned themselves, or are considered suspicious.
Assists individuals who wish to partake in the voluntary self-exclusion program according to the memorandum of directives by AGLC.
Ensures accurate records of the VSE's and re-entries and ensures that all subordinates are trained in program details and policy and procedures in re-entries as per AGLC directives.
The previous shift supervisor must fill a vacant or absentee spot for the next shift should a cancellation occur and has had notification of absentee in time.
Be able to perform the duties of a Security Guard.
All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises a team of Security Guards during a shift. Provides guidance, mentoring and coaching to team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience providing and enforcing security services, including crowd control. Experience in effective and diplomatic customer service and communication skills, including contact with employees, customers and experience handling difficult customer relations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Gaming related experience preferred but not essential. Two (2) or more years of recent and related experience in security enforcement is desirable. Law enforcement courses/experience or security background are an asset.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess or be able to acquire a valid and current Alberta Gaming license and all applicable certifications successfully. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Standard First Aid Level C with AED and have a working knowledge of WHMIS 2015 and FINTRAC considered an asset.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to demonstrate effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills are required.

Takes actions, makes recommendations beyond the scope of essential duties, which may positively or negatively impact other departments.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Century, FINTRAC, AML, and AGLC's policies and procedures and how they pertain to security. Must have and maintain professional radio communication when communicating over the radio. Knowledge of a phonetic alphabet beneficial.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Essential duties involve performing physical exertion, frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing (including stalled cars) and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. May be subject to exposure to body fluids from any persons who may have been injured or in need of First Aid.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Essential duties involve working with large numbers of people in an inside and outside environment, subject to extreme temperature changes and adverse weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, cold, heat, and frequently loud or high noise levels.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
Various security-related equipment, including digital cameras, portable two-way radios, emergency first aid equipment, fire control panel and surveillance equipment. General office equipment is also used, including computers, fax machines, photocopiers, staplers, and tape.
