Job Description

Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This position requires strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations.

Duties



1. Staff Supervision & Leadership



Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of security officers.

2. Patrol & Incident Response



Oversee regular patrols of buildings, grounds, and restricted areas. Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies; take control of situations until higher authority arrives. Lead incident investigations and ensure accurate documentation.

3. Safety & Security Operations



Enforce access control procedures (badges, visitor sign-in, perimeter control). Monitor CCTV systems, alarm systems, and communication equipment. Identify safety hazards and recommend improvements to prevent incidents. Ensure fire and life-safety equipment is functioning and inspections are completed.

4. Reporting & Documentation



Prepare daily activity reports, incident reports, shift summaries, and logs. Review and verify officers' reports for accuracy and completeness. Maintain records related to training, scheduling, and incident follow-ups.

5. Policy Enforcement & Compliance



Enforce company security policies, local regulations, and emergency procedures. Assist in developing or updating security protocols and post orders. Coordinate with HR and management regarding policy violations or investigations.

6. Customer Service & Communication



Serve as the point of contact between security staff, building management, and clients. Assist employees, visitors, and contractors with directions, escorts, or security concerns. Provide clear communication during emergencies or disruptions.

7. Coordination With External Agencies



Work with police, fire departments, and emergency responders when needed. Support investigations by providing evidence, reports, or CCTV footage. Train new guards on policies, patrol procedures, emergency response, and report writing. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or corrective action when necessary. Ensure staff comply with company policies, post orders, and safety regulations.

Qualifications



Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or loss prevention is preferred. Familiarity with surveillance equipment, including CCTV systems. Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert at all times. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively. Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required. A valid security guard license may be required depending on local regulations. Courses required Pressure Point Control Tactics, First Aid CPR/AED Level C, Naloxone Training,non crisis intervention, and Whimis training required.
