THE POSITION





The Security Operations Team is responsible for protecting Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation property, personnel and customers. They achieve this through dedicated patrols, safety inspections of the Saddledome, camera surveillance and alarm monitoring as well as professional response and resolution to security and safety concerns. This position requires Dayshift and Nightshift availability.




KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES




Patrol Saddledome area on a frequent basis; Conduct safety inspections such as inspection of fire equipment; Conduct building monitoring through camera surveillance and alarm systems (fire, security, engineering); Monitor and address any unsafe work practices; Issue building security passes as necessary; Conduct first aid and emergency response measures as required; Report any incidents or irregularities through the necessary channels; Draft written communication and reports to ensure incidents are recorded accurately; Ensure constant communication is maintained amongst the security team; Actively participate in safety programs and follow polices; Maintain a strong knowledge of building procedures such as fire and disaster evacuation; Active participation in the Safety Program and follow all safety rules; Respond to and deal with all incidents including but not limited to first aid, trespassers, criminal behaviour or recues; All other duties as required or assigned

Must be able to work independently with little direction Must possess strong teamwork skills Must be able to adapt to change and follow direction from superiors Ability to stand for an entire shift Ability to maneuver through and respond to any area of the building Strong problem solving and mitigation skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Schedule flexibility to work evening, night and weekend shifts as well as stat holidays
