What we're looking for:
Guardteck Security is looking for experienced security guards in Downtown Toronto.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable manner
• Ability to utilize tact and diplomacy when on duty
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide First Aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive
• Ability to maintain and enforce access control procedures
• Solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures
• Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner
• Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters
• Able to conduct periodic patrols of property either by foot
• Investigate incidents and occurrences
• Draft detailed incident and occurrence reports
• Maintain the peace, safety, and security of all patrons, and clients on the property
• Monitor CCTV surveillance systems
• De-escalate emergency/crisis situations
• Assist emergency and law enforcement personnel
• Access control, line management, customer service
• Assist with daily operations as needed/required or directed

Qualifications & Skills:

• Must be capable of working a rotating shift schedule, as required.
• Should have training in security from an accredited college, such as a certificate in Law & Security Administration, Police Foundations (or similar certificate/diploma) or applicable job experience (no less than 12 months).
• Should have experience working as a tactical security guard, with prior training in basic physical security techniques including, but not limited to knowledge of the criminal code, relevant provincial statues such as the Trespass to Property Act, de-escalation training, tactical communication, dealing with emotionally disturbed persons, defensive tactics, diversity training, report writing, and use of a Memo Book.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, other computer application knowledge is an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, articulate and able to document incidents utilizing a computerized incident reporting system, or equivalent templates.
• Must be trained in first aid at the appropriate level in accordance with provincial and Ministry requirements for security personnel in each province. This training should also include cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and naloxone (if required).
• Ability to maintain poise and self-control under stressful situations.
• Able to spend periods of time walking or standing in a fixed post.
