Overview:

Greenwood Mall is seeking a dependable, professional, and observant individual to join our team as a Part-Time Security Guard. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. This position requires a strong sense of integrity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond calmly under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct regular foot patrols of the mall premises (interior and exterior) Monitor and operate CCTV/security camera systems Respond to disturbances and emergencies in a calm and professional manner Assist tenants and merchants in managing theft, vandalism, and other criminal matters Enforce mall policies and relevant legislation (e.g.,

Protection of Property Act

, Criminal Code) Provide excellent customer service and general public assistance Document daily incident reports and log occurrences clearly and accurately Assist with fire safety systems, including sprinklers, alarms, and evacuation procedures Perform light snow and ice clearing at entrances to ensure safe access Support team members and work independently as required Participate in health and safety protocols and emergency response drills

Required Qualifications:

Valid Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check Current First Aid & CPR/AED certification Training in

Mental Health First Aid

and

De-escalation Techniques

(preferred or willing to obtain) Experience with security systems, fire panels, or building safety systems (asset) Familiarity with relevant provincial and federal laws regarding trespassing, theft, and personal safety Physically fit and able to stand/walk for extended periods Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Assets (Not Required but Beneficial):

Previous security experience Bilingual (English/French) WHMIS training

Expected hours: 12 - 24 per week

Schedule:

Evening shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
