We are seeking Security guards for some positions at data centres across the GTA. We are looking for individuals with a high level of customer service and security experience. Priority to those with a strong customer service background.We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.https://www.securitas.ca/careers/security-guardThe posting will remain open until filled.Position Overview:Wages: $25.00/hrShifts: Morning, Afternoons (Monday to Friday)RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform access control provision duties, verify visitors coming on-site.
• Screen client employees and contractors with handheld wand metal detection devices.
• Ask individuals a series of questions to screen for prohibited items.
• Provide outstanding customer service to client employees and contractors.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
• Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities and perform dispatch duties for the site including emergency response.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• Be able to work under pressure in a changing environment.
• Understand the importance of personnel screening and escalate to supervisor when necessary.
• Be able to sit for long periods of time in an isolated area.
• 3 years of security experience or 5 years of customer service experience with direct customer facing experience.
• Eligibility for reliability clearances required for data centre positions.

Other Information:

• No cell phones, recording devices or any other electronic devices are allowed while security guard is on post.
• Candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time in very isolated areas.
• Candidates are permitted to bring a novel or academic material to read at their post.
• Must be able to adhere to strict security measures.
