Are you ready to suit up?We are looking for a Part-Time security guard who would be interested working at an Aviation Setting at Winnipeg, MB.As a security officer at an Aviation setting, you will primarily deal with the general public and Passengers . What does a Security Guard in Winnipeg do?

• Providing uniformed, physical security to our client and its customers/visitors
• Checking Bags of the Passengers before departure
• Making the Passengers aware about the protocols at the premises
• Greet and assist general public.
• Conduct thorough passenger screening.
• Perform physical searches (pat downs) of passengers and their outerwear.
• Physically open and inspect all bags (tool kits, duffel bags, etc.).
• Pay attention to anomalies or suspicious shapes.
• Identify and report any suspicious or prohibited items to Flight Services staff.
• Follow established protocols for handling prohibited items, pending Flight Services direction.
• Report illegal substances to the Winnipeg Police Service, if necessary.
• Using Metal detector to scan passengers
• Complete daily and incident reports.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy items.
• Conducting daily functions of the security unit including visual deterrent, and report writing/note taking.
• Liaising with visitors, customers. and the general public on a consistent basis
• Providing customer service information and assist in handling the questions of visitors
• Maintaining a positive, productive work environment through positive teamwork

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Winnipeg ?

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Previous experience in the security industry (asset)
• RAIC holder, or capable to obtain it. (PR Holder or Citizen)
• Must have been in Canada for 5+ years legally
• Must have a recent clear criminal record check and Child Abuse check
• Customer service oriented
• Must be proficient in using a metal detector.
• Must be able to work days
• Leadership and problem-solving skills
• Must be flexible and be prepared for flight cancellations
• Must be available for an On the job training on Jun 27 or Jun 28.
• Must be ok with shift time being changed due to flight delays
• Ability to work in a stressful and fast -paced environment
