With our wide variety of contracts, we have a position that will accommodate your needs and help you reach your goals. Garda Fort McMurray is currently seeking a part time Investigator/Supervisor for an Industrial project located in Calgary.

The Calgary FBO (Fixed Base Operations) Investigator/Supervisor position is part-time with a minimum of six shifts per month, and rotation of 7 shifts on 7 days off. Typical hours are from 4:30AM to 7:30AM daily and on each Wednesday, there is a second shift from 2:30PM to 5:30PM.

What you'll be doing

• Supervise and participate in the pre-flight screening of passengers and passenger luggage departing the Flight Based Operations (FBO) Calgary to the Oilsands Project.
• Interact directly with passengers when items prohibited items (contraband) are identified during pre-screening.
• Make decisions based upon company policy and use discretion based upon previous law enforcement experience.
• Willingness and ability to work a seven shift on and a seven day off schedule.
• Weekly preparation of flight schedule and screener requirements
• Work as Investigator with the K9 Handler, attending the FBO conducting luggage sweeps.
• Liaise with Canadian North Airlines staff at the FBO.
• Liaise with GardaNorth HR Manager or designate.
• Report directly to the on duty GardaNorth General Manager at Oilsands Project.

What we're looking for

• Ten plus years of law enforcement experience or relevant related security experience.

• Extensive investigative background, including specialized unit experience (Drugs, GIS, Major Crime, K-9 etc.).
• Experience in the use of K-9 detection, Experience or exposure to specialized investigative techniques
• Experience in drug and alcohol detection and investigations.
• Experience with flight screening or airport operations.
• Experience in training.
• Certified Alberta SSIA Investigator Licence.

Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior security services position at an oil sands facility or similar operational experience. * CSTS

• WHIMIS
• Class 5 drivers license (no GDL, 5-year clean drivers abstract)
• Standard First Aid Level-C, CPR & AED (2-day course)
