BlackBerry is looking for a Security DevOps Specialist to join the Information Security Operations team. In this role, you will join an energetic group to work collaboratively to build and develop content to improve efficiency and effectiveness of our identification and detection capabilities. Your passion for delivering high quality solutions, creative thinking, problem solving, and automation will help to support BlackBerry\xe2\x80\x99s Information Security Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve operational practices/procedures
  • Content Development for SIEM and automation tools for security system integration
  • Designing, implementing and developing scripts and tools for integration
  • Develop processes to integrate logging and monitoring of internal systems
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and operational documents
  • Providing technical guidance and education to team members on Sec DevOps best practices
  • Develop Security DevOps practices using principles such as automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery and proactive monitoring
  • Good understanding of continuous integration/delivery practices and other DevOps concepts
  • Support Security Operations with content building, Playbooks and tuning
  • Foster environment of continuous improvement


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree with 4 years of experience
  • Experience working as a Security DevOps Specialist or in a similar role with a focus on security
  • Experience working with security orchestration and automation framework (SOAR)
  • Experience with SIEM tools, regex, python, syslog, databases, MySQL, bash, LUA, Java
  • Experience with monitoring and reporting frameworks like ELK, Prometheus, InfluxDB/Grafana is an asset
  • Software development experience, ideally in Python
  • Experience with highspeed data processing systems
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure using various cloud providers, such as AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Experience with confluence, Jira, workflows
  • Strong aptitude for innovation; can recognize opportunities for improvement in day-to-day
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience with flow-based development with tools such as: Node Red, Apache Nifi
  • Experience with queueing and caching systems such as: Kafka, MQTT, RabbitMQ
  • Knowledge of virtualization services such as: Docker, Kubernetes, VMWare

  • Be outgoing, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with small and large teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Use outside-of-the-box thinking to generate creative solutions to problems
  • Professional with experience on consulting, designing and delivering large projects/programs
  • Experience responding to auditors is desirable
  • ITIL, TOGAF, CCSE, CCSP, CCNP, CCIE, MCSE, GIAC, or other certifications is desirable
  • Resourcefulness, creativity and a high level of motivation are the key skill sets for success in this position
