Job Description

The Security Analyst is a collaborative member of the IT Security Team reporting to the Manager of Network & Security Operations. This dynamic role is critical to ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of J.D. Irving, Limited\xe2\x80\x99s IT environment. This work is focused on supporting the operational role of IT Security.

As a Security Analyst, you will work collaboratively with the Security Operations team to deploy, maintain and strengthen controls to safeguard the wide variety of the organization\xe2\x80\x99s environments. You will be exposed to diverse security toolsets and work on interesting, dynamic assignments quickly.

Your Focus:

• Deploy, maintain and strengthen a variety of security controls
• Ensure vulnerabilities are detected, measured, reported and remediated in a timely manner
• Brief technical leaders on the nature and impact of threats and vulnerabilities
• Assist in the development of security awareness material
• Support the security monitoring program by resolving ingestion issues, investigating anomalies and creating actionable dashboards
• Monitor security alerts and investigate security incidents
• Participate in an on-call rotation

You Have:

• A University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Cyber Security or another relevant field
• 1+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in complex IT environments
• Knowledge of vulnerability management programs
• Knowledge of security incident and event management programs
• Knowledge of log management tools and capabilities
• High attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn and grow

You Are:

• Passionate about IT Security
• Able to initiate and pursue independent work
• A strong communicator \xe2\x80\x93 both written and verbally

Extras:

• Security+ Certification or equivalents
• Experience working with Government and/or Military agencies
• Eligible to obtain NATO Secret Government security clearance and Controlled Goods approval
