The job of the security officer is to patrol the inside and the outside of the property, identify current or potential problems, fix what can be fixed, judge the importance of what can not be settled immediately and take action depending on the types of problems. The employee must also answer customer service calls, complete the safety report and, if necessary, ensure a presence at the front desk.

Job description:

• Supervise the premises: control access to the land and buildings and direct visitors to the appropriate places
• Make periodic rounds to inspect the various areas of the establishment
• Ensure that doors and windows are securely locked
• Maintain, order and prevent any unreasonable agitation, offense or theft of property
• Discourage inappropriate behavior
• Enforce the safety regulations in force in the establishment
• Expel unwanted intruders and loafers as needed
• Check the antitheft system and fire detectors, set thermostats and lights
• Investigate and report to the authorities any fire hazards, malfunction of machinery, or interruption of utilities: electricity, heating, ventilation
• Alert police, firefighters and ambulance as needed
• Collaborate with authorities in reporting intruders and unwanted loafers
• Apply the regulations of the establishment which are related to the internal and external circulation of the personnel, the visitors, the users and the suppliers
• Educate and guide visitors, as appropriate,
• Enforce curfew and check for visitor departures
• Write daily monitoring reports
• Provide special services, such as responding to customer inquiries, dealing with lost and found objects, handling complaints or referring clients to the appropriate people to do this.
• Any other related tasks requested by the Management of the property.
