About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Public Health Early Years Manager, the Secretary II:

  • Performs general front reception duties
  • Receives and responds to public inquiries in person or by phone, providing an environment that is safe, not judgmental and confidential
  • Completes client clinic bookings
  • Participate in program meetings including meeting minute documentation
  • Performs general clerical duties such as ordering supplies, filing, photocopying, mailing and maintaining inventory of supplies
  • Assists with planning and organization of various meetings as requested by management team
  • Collects data, performs data entry and transcribes records as required using an Electronic Medical Recor (EMR)
  • Other related duties as described

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Successful completion of a medical office administration program required.
  • Extensive experience in electronic communication (including but not limited to) Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Outlook required
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic medical records required (successful candidates will be provided Panorama training)
  • Minimum two (2) years\' experience in a health care setting required; experience working in a multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, resourceful, flexible and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of the principles of Public Health.
  • Customer service orientated, ensuring all staff, patients, and members of the public are treated courteously, professionally and with respect.
  • Supports and delivers quality patient safety standards within the health authority.
  • Responsible for contributing to the achievement of the health authority\xe2\x80\x99s accreditation standards.
  • Must have experience with biologicals, including management of vaccine inventory, including ordering and receiving of vaccine, maintaining vaccine inventory in provincial inventory data base, releasing vaccine orders to community providers, reconciling vaccine inventory in office fridges with data base inventory, and coordinating courier deliveries of vaccine to PH offices.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Permanent- Full Time, 70 hours Bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives

$20.36 - $23.14 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
