About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and close-out of mid- to large-scale electrical construction projects across the ICI sector. You'll own schedule, budget, safety, and quality while acting as the primary interface with clients, general contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and internal field teams. The ideal candidate combines deep electrical construction knowledge with disciplined project controls and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Planning
Develop project execution plans, baseline schedules, manpower curves, and procurement logs.
Lead project kickoff, constructability reviews, and pre-task planning.
Scope, Schedule & Cost Control
Manage full project lifecycle from award through commissioning and close-out.
Track progress against estimate, schedule, and budgets (labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors.
Drive change management: scope clarifications, RFIs, change notices, pricing, negotiation, and approved change orders.
Forecast cost to complete, earned value, cash flow, and labour productivity; implement recovery plans when needed.
Procurement & Subcontracting
Issue RFQs, level bids, award POs/subcontracts, and manage vendor performance and deliveries.
Coordinate long-lead items (switchgear, generators, UPS, lighting controls, cable tray, automation components).
Quality & Commissioning
Enforce quality assurance plans, inspections, and test documentation (meggering, IR scans, functional testing).
Lead item checks, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and turnover packages (O&M manuals, as-builts, training).
Safety & Compliance
Champion a zero-incident culture in alignment with OHSA, ESA requirements, Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), and company H&S program.
Conduct site audits, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
Report to Stakeholder & Team Management for continuous documentation and overview of project control.
Serve as primary client/GC point of contact; lead weekly progress meetings and produce minutes/action logs, if required.
Coordinate field supervision (general forepersons/forepersons), estimators, coordinators.
Maintain RFIs, submittals, drawing logs, RFI registers, daily reports and deficiency lists.
Prepare monthly cost reports as required
Qualifications
7-10+ years of progressive experience managing electrical construction projects ($100K-$5M+ preferred) in the ICI sector.
Post-secondary in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related trade background; Red Seal Electrician (309A) or P.Eng. considered an asset.
Demonstrated success delivering projects on time, within budget, and to specification.
Strong knowledge of OESC, OHSA, CSA standards, ESA processes, and utility coordination (Hydro One/local LDCs).
Valid Ontario G driver's licence; ability to visit active job sites.
Technical Skills
Project controls: cost reporting, earned value, labour productivity tracking, change order management.
Scheduling: Microsoft Project or other
Construction Software Management: Procore (or similar), Bluebeam, Accubid/Trimble or similar estimating tools
Proficiency with MS 365.
Ability to read and coordinate electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and specifications

Commercial tenant improvements, healthcare, education, light industrial/manufacturing, data/IT spaces, distribution/warehousing, and public sector facilities.
Working Conditions
Mix of office and site environment; PPE required on sites.
Occasional weekend work for cutovers, shutdowns, and commissioning, if required.
