SEASONAL Labourer III - Public Works, WATER & SEWER The City of Martensville has one opening for a Full-Time SEASONAL Labourer III in the Water & Sewer department. SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Earned Days Off (EDOs) scheduled every third Friday.
- This is an on-going position subject to annual layoff and recall, with an employment period of approximately 6 months annually.
- The 2023 employment period will be May 1 through October 27.
- Assisting with regular maintenance and repairs of water & sewer infrastructure.
- Maintenance and repairs at the municipal lagoon.
- Operate small equipment for Public Works.
- Minor maintenance of small equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Applicants must:
- Be available for work May 1 through October 27, 2023.
- Be safety conscious and demonstrate a high level of attentiveness to their own personal safety as well as that of their co-workers and the public.
- Be able to perform physically strenuous work and to work outdoors under various weather conditions.
- Have their Grade 12 diploma and a valid Class 5 Driver\'s License.
- While policies and safe work practices are in place to minimize risk of contact, Hepatitis A & B (TwinRix), Tetanus, and Diptheria vaccinations are required.
- Experience in equipment operation, general labour, or construction is preferred.
- Municipal work experience is considered an asset.
- Applicants are subject to a criminal record check.
- As per CUPE local Agreement; 2022 Rate: $17.22/hour.
- This rate is subject to increase pending agreement of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
