F/T and P/T position (s) available on our lawn maintenance crew for upcoming season.

Full-Time and Part-Time positions from April until October 2024

Duties:

Spring lawn services (month of April): core aerating, power raking, hand-raking, mowing and fertilizing lawns Regular maintenance (May-Oct): Mowing and Trimming (weed whipping), fertilizing, and occasional weeding at residential and commercial properties in Medicine Hat

Regular Hours / Days of Work:

Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30/4:00 pm. Hours may vary slightly depending on the schedule. Full-time hours = Avg.

35 - 40 +

hours per week Overtime is paid on all hours worked over 8 hours/day. 4% vacation pay is included on each cheque. Occasional weekends may be required in cases of rain during the week when we need to get caught up - and during the month of April.

Longer hours will be required during the month of April.*

Term of Employment:

April - October 4

Preference will be given to candidates who are able to work for the full duration of the term.

Not suitable for students who are currently in school Monday-Friday

Skills Required:

Training will be provided, however past experience operating commercial walk behind lawnmowers, core aerator, power rake/de-thatcher, trimmer and leaf blower is an asset.

A valid class 5 drivers license

IS required as well as a vehicle to get to and from work each day.

Previous experience and

ability to pull a utility trailer is a definite asset.

Applicants must be able to work outside in all summer conditions: this includes dusty conditions, periods of extreme heat and periods of light rain.

This is a physically demanding job - especially during the month of April.*

Must be able to lift 50 pounds*
Company branded t-shirts are provided and to be worn during shifts.

In addition to this position we may be looking for someone who is qualified to and able to fill a crew leadership role

with more responsibility. This will require someone with the ability to provide leadership and guidance to other crew members that ensures daily tasks are completed to the expectations of the company. This person must be willing and able to go above and beyond to maintain properties and "run a crew". Employee wage for the crew leader position will be compensated accordingly. Previous experience running a crew and pulling a utility trailer is a definite asset for this role.

Starting (training) wage is $17.00 per hour (

depending on experience*).
4% vacation pay is included on each cheque

Individuals with past work experience in this type of work and

those who learn quickly and excel in their skills and ability to perform the duties of the job

will be compensated accordingly.*
