Job Description

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.Cavendish Farms is looking for Field Labourers for a period of 3-4 weeks to work at our Research & Breeding Farm Operation located in New Annan, PE. The work begins by mid-late April. Those successful in this role will have other opportunities for seasonal full-time work throughout the year with both field and greenhouse operation activities related to potato research and breeding.Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Enjoys work in an outdoor setting.
• Able to perform physical work and lift up to 30lbs (13.5kgs).
• Available to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
• Able to work in a team setting doing repetitive work.
• High degree of attention to detail.
• Experience working in agriculture or horticulture, or with an interest in gardening and plant propagation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grading/Cutting seed potatoes.
• Planting of Potato Research Trials and Breeding lines.
• Washing and disinfection of equipment.
• All other duties as required.
