Job Description

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

Cavendish Farms is looking for Greenhouse Labourers for a period of about 3 weeks to work at our Research Centre/Greenhouse located in New Annan, PE.

The work begins early in February. Those successful in this role will have other opportunities for seasonal full time work throughout the year with planting and harvesting related to potato research and breeding.

Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Enjoys work in a greenhouse setting.

Able to stand for the shift and to lift up to 30lbs (13.5kgs).

Available to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.

Able to work in a team setting doing repetitive work.

High degree of attention to detail.

Experience working in agriculture or horticulture, or with an interest in gardening and plant propagation.

Key Responsibilities:

Washing pots and trays, and filling with media.

Sowing seed and transplanting plantlets, watering.

Washing and disinfection of greenhouses and benches.

All other duties as required.

Work Schedule: Working for a farming operation, workers must be available to work up to 10 hours a day, weekdays and weekends.

Wage Range: $17.92/hr
