Job Description

Seamstress/Sewing Machine Operator required immediately to join CanvasMart, Calgary's leading tarp manufacturer. Candidate must speak and read English. Industrial sewing experience required, with preference given to candidates with experience working with tarps and industrial covers. $20.00/hr with an opportunity to grow with the company. We are negotiable on this salary depending on your experience - if you have been a foreman or supervisor in a sewing shop we will pay more. We're looking for somebody with a positive attitude and a passion for innovating new and better ways to make products to help us maintain our leading position in the market.The successful candidate will have 3-5 years' experience. Must be able to help oversee production. Must be able to read a work order with a sketch and dimensions, and oversee/participate in the production of the item from start to finish.Ideally, you will have experience fabricating the following products:

  • boat covers
  • car wash curtains
  • truck tarps
In addition to our single and double needle sewing machines, we also own a Miller Weldmaster vinyl welding machine. Experience using this machine is an asset.Full dental and medical benefits after three months. Four paid sick days/year. Yearly bonus.
