Job Overview: Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team and help us explore, invent, develop, and deliver business products. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical leadership for developing and maintaining automated tests as we migrate to a microservices architecture. You will conduct various tasks to ensure our manual and automated test approaches are effectively and efficiently designed, implemented, and maintained for both legacy and new development. You will leverage software engineering best practices to provide information, feedback, and expertise about software quality and development processes to deliver defect-free applications. You will work with a team of SDETs to ensure our test automation framework and the platform is highly scalable and performant with a technical design

What You\'ll Do

• Exhibit hands-on knowledge in developing automated testing using modern software development and testing tools
• Ensure automated test design adheres to the overall company architecture and quality assurance principles
• Collaborate with team members across product, architecture, development, DevOps, and testing teams in designing automated testing approaches
• Promote and support the implementation of CI/CT/CD pipeline
• Exercise fundamental good software engineering practices when developing automated tests, such as design/code reviews
• Maintain and enhance test automation frameworks for UI, Microservices & API
• Participate on an Agile Scrum Team, completing assigned tasks which include automated and manual testing
• Able to provide in-depth analysis to document and resolve technical issues, anticipate risks and ensure timely management escalation
• Provide automated test solutions to deliver both functional and non-functional software quality
• Work with stakeholders to plan, estimate & implement test automation strategies
• Ensure compliance with automation framework, standards & best practices
• Facilitate automated, on-demand test automation metrics
• Maintain and update technical documentation relating to test architecture, design steps, integration processes, or procedures.
• Participate in technical design meetings to ensure clear direction in areas of responsibilities
• Seek stakeholder feedback via test automation demos

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need to Succeed
We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone who:

• Can work 100% remotely, or from an Applied Systems office

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

• 3+ years of experience working as a Software Test Engineer using JavaScript, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages
• Experience with SQL Server or other databases
• Strong knowledge of automated or manual testing, with UI and/or API layers, such as REST/RESTful
• Experience with automated testing tools like Katalon, Selenium, Postman, Swagger, Splunk, xUnit, NUnit, etc.
• Strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving skills; strong logical reasoning and solution-oriented
• Ability to work with others in a team-oriented environment is a must
• Positive and adaptable with multi-tasking in a continually changing environment
• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Computer Science, technology, or equivalent work experience

Additionally, you may have:

• Working knowledge of microservices, cloud computing, and related technologies, such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker
• Microsoft stack experience: C#, Asp.Net, .Net, SQL
• Experience working in an environment transformed from a predominately manual QA to an automated QA testing environment
