The Opportunity

As part of KPMG\xe2\x80\x99s commitment to invest in digital marketing, there is a focus on the Global Digital Marketing team to formalize our approach to agile ways of working. The scrum master role will define and lead an agile vision and strategy that improves processes and practices to deliver marketing technology projects. This role must be able to identify and mitigate product level risks, implementing strategic teamwork solutions, fostering communication and collaboration across the team.
What you will do

Agile project management

  • Accountable for the facilitation of appropriate Scrum ceremonies on a sprint-by-sprint basis. This includes Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives.
  • Ensure the Product Owner regularly defines the sprint goal to provide clarity to the team on which stories to pull into the sprint from the backlog.
  • For large and complex items, work with the Product Owner and team to break down complexity into epics, stories, and tasks. Ensure proper planning techniques to best manage timelines.
  • Work with the Product Owner to ensure backlog health and 1-2 sprints of \xe2\x80\x98ready\xe2\x80\x99 stories at all times.
  • Responsible for creating and managing an Agile transformation plan for the team to move to higher levels of Agile maturity.
  • Provide regular updates and materials to the Director of Program Management to keep executive stakeholders updated on team progress and accomplishments.
Innovation, tracking and metrics
  • Ownership for producing relevant metrics every sprint that help the team measure success and opportunities for improvement (e.g. committed vs. delivered, sprint burndowns, release burnups, etc.)
  • Use past metrics to help the team pull in an appropriate number of stories each sprint.
  • Draw upon the talents and perspectives of the team, bringing together data, systems thinking and curiosity in order to deliver on releases that create next-generation best in class experiences.
Coach and mentoring
  • Enable teams to grow into high-performance, self-managing teams by being a coach, an excellent facilitator and collaborator.
  • Leading and coaching teams and the organization through its Agile journey.
What you bring to the role
  • Relevant post-secondary education (e.g. degree, diploma)
  • Relevant Agile Certified Scrum Master (CSM) / Kanban Management Professional (KMP)
  • Demonstrated experience transforming Waterfall teams to Agile
  • Experience working with distributed teams (e.g. onshore and offshore team members) and navigating challenges with this structure
  • Knowledge of agile development best practices and tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • 8+ Years of experience as part of a delivery environment (either traditional or agile)
  • 4+ years\' experience as a Scrum Master
  • Specific experience with Marketing technology solutions from Adobe and/or Salesforce considered an asset
