Screen Printer -
Position Overview
A Screen Printer is responsible for preparing screens, mixing inks, setting up printing equipment, and producing high-quality prints on garments, promotional items, signage, and other materials. The role requires attention to detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare screens for printing, including coating, burning, washing out, and reclaiming.
Set up and operate manual or automatic screen-printing presses.
Mix and match ink colors to meet design specifications.
Load, align, and unload garments or substrates on printing equipment.
Conduct test prints and adjust press settings to ensure proper registration and print quality.
Maintain consistent quality control throughout production runs.
Clean and maintain screens, squeegees, inks, and printing equipment.
Monitor inventory of inks, emulsions, chemicals, and supplies.
Follow production schedules and meet required deadlines.
Troubleshoot printing issues such as misalignment, ink bleeding, or screen defects.
Ensure work area and equipment are kept clean, organized, and safe.
Qualifications
Previous screen-printing experience is preferred but not always required (depending on employer).
Knowledge of screen preparation, ink types, curing temperatures, and printing techniques.
Ability to lift and move items (typically 25-50 lbs).
Strong attention to detail and color accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good time-management and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with automatic presses (M&R, ROQ, Anatol, etc.) is an asset.
Work Environment
Fast-paced production setting.
Requires standing for extended periods.
Exposure to inks, chemicals, heat, and machinery (proper PPE provided).
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
