Scouting Coordinator

Job Description

Vancouver Whitecaps FC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Scouting Coordinator to join our Scouting and Recruitment team. The Scouting Coordinator will be responsible for identifying talent through data platforms and public sources while coordinating scouting operations and reporting on some player prospects. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely and report to the Head of Scouting to shape the club's long-term recruitment strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:




Identify player prospects using our data scouting platform and publicly available sources. Generate and maintain data reports on player prospects. Monitor and assess the performance of player prospects continuously. Manage and optimize workflows within the scouting database. Track global scouting trends and explore emerging markets. Collaborate with scouts and recruitment team to ensure a holistic approach to player evaluation. Participate in regular meetings to discuss scouting strategies and player assessments. Plan and coordinate scouting coverage for key international tournaments. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Head of Scouting.



QUALIFICATIONS:




Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in a scouting or video analysis role within a pro soccer club is necessary. Strong knowledge of data scouting platforms and analytical tools. Solid understanding of soccer tactics, formations, and player roles. Ability to translate raw data into meaningful strategic recommendations. In-depth knowledge of MLS and international scouting environments. Highly organized, collaborative and detail-oriented with strong presentation skills. Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Passionate about soccer with a deep understanding of the game. Naturally curious and motivated to discover emerging talents and hidden prospects. High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion. Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working under pressure. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands.
