With a focus on total wealth planning, and wealth specialists to help you deliver on this unique value proposition, you\'ll be enabling clients to see not just the big picture, but all the little ones too.INTRODUCTION:The Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives focuses on Identifying, developing and leading the implementation of high-impact projects and strategies that support ScotiaMcLeod\'s long-term vision and goals.WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING:
In this role you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives for ScotiaMcLeod that require direct interaction with key stakeholders including key business partners including all Scotia Wealth Management business lines.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and internal assessments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Overall responsibility for assigned projects including: management of scope, budget, risk, resources, plan and internal/external communications. Securing appropriate resources and support to ensure initiatives are completed correctly, on time and on budget.
  • Support the ScotiaMcLeod leadership team in planning, implementing, and monitoring internal, cross-functional programs and procedures.
  • Proactively identify initiatives and processes that contribute to efficient and effective operation of the business.
  • Lead frequent meetings with appropriate parties to ensure projects and initiatives are kept on track. Maintains an active list of initiatives, identifies responsible stakeholders, and timelines to implement.
  • Develop and implement change management activities specifically related to projects and initiatives assigned.
  • Lead and actively engage in identifying improvement opportunities and process efficiencies to create overall effectiveness while consulting with key partners and stakeholders.
  • Understand how the Bank\'s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank\'s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles
  • Build a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS:
We would love to work with you if you have:
  • Bachelor\'s degree required, MBA preferred
  • Project Management (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in corporate strategy, consulting focused on wealth management, banking or financial services industry, is an asset
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with outstanding business acumen and attention to detail
  • Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal for interacting with stakeholders with varying cross cultural and language differences
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other teams and senior executives
  • Advanced knowledge in financial analysis
  • Advanced leadership skills in Building Strategic Relationships and Customer Focus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
