The Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics is hiring world-leading specialists to transform our understanding of mental health by organizing, integrating, analyzing, visualizing and modelling data across all levels of the brain \xe2\x80\x94from genes to circuits to behaviour. This multimodal data is gathered across the clinical environment including genetic, epigenetic, MRI, DTI, fMRI, hd-EEG, actigraphy and electronic medical record data. Teams will employ state-of-the-art techniques including topological data analysis, machine learning and multiscale computational modeling to accelerate identification and treatment of mental health disorders. Research is performed in an open, team science environment, with an emphasis on reproducible data-driven research and a patient-centric approach. A focus on global collaboration is key to transforming our understanding of mental health and its treatment. The centre will operate as an incubator for medical technologies to identify, manage and treat mental illness, while shaping policy at national and global levels.
Position Description
The Scientist for Predictive Care & Knowledge Translation will build and lead a team of talented interdisciplinary researchers who focus on the emerging opportunities and risks presented by Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning in mental health care settings. The team will investigate how human actors interact with and adopt AI in real-world settings and explore the concepts and roles of \xe2\x80\x98fairness\xe2\x80\x99 as it applies to data, ML and implementation. You have expertise in predictive care analytics, social science approaches to technological innovation, social change and implementation. You will collaborate with world class research scientists and be afforded with necessary computational resources to expedite scientific discovery through computational & data mining approaches. You will be an experienced researcher with deep knowledge and a track record of functioning well in a cross-functional environment. You will be required to establish local, national, and international collaborations, provide practical supervision of undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral trainees, and technical staff. As a Scientist, you will be expected to lead research activities, maintain an active publication record, and secure extramural funding sources for those activities. You will also disseminate research results through presentations at academic meetings and conferences and communicate ideas to key decision makers. Participation in leadership advisory groups at CAMH and externally is expected. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and the successful applicant will need to obtain academic affiliation with a university department at the Assistant Professor level.
