We are seeking a Scientist in Molecular Biology to lead and optimize our workflow for strain engineering. This is a key role within our R&D team, directly supporting the design-build-test-learn (DBTL) cycles that drive our innovation.
The key responsibilities
of this role will be:
- Lead molecular biology workflows for strain engineering to support DBTL cycles
- Develop, optimize and scale protocols for increasing throughput for constructing and characterizing libraries of strain variants
- Collaborate with computational and process development teams to guide the molecular biology workflow
- Coordinate with external partners to accelerate R&D
- Introduce and implement state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques
- Contribute to R&D planning and help shape the scientific direction of the company
- Identify opportunities and implement strategies to improve research efficiency
- Mentor, train and guide junior researchers and technicians
An ideal candidate
will have:
- PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or related field with minimum two years of post-doctoral or industrial experience
- Strong working knowledge of engineering of common industrial microorganisms - E. coli experience is required
- Expertise in standard molecular biology techniques for pathway assembly, gene expression regulation, and genome editing;
- Hands-on experience with CRISPR-based editing and regulation
- Proven ability to plan and manage cross-functional projects
- Experience in mentoring or managing junior researchers (technicians/interns)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working in a start-up environment
Following skill-sets are

- Experience in planning and implementing high throughput strain engineering workflows
- Experience in high throughput assay development
- Experience in metabolic engineering or protein engineering
