Position Summary
Principal Investigator (early career) in Cancer Biology
The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre (PM) at the University Health Network (UHN), a cancer research institute affiliated with the University of Toronto, seeks an early-career faculty Scientist (full time Assistant Professor level) to establish an independent world-class research program in Cancer Biology. Successful candidate will be supported by a generous start-up package, independent modern laboratory space, full salary and assistance in obtaining cross-appointment to the University of Toronto. PM appointment is expected at the rank of Scientist, on a career path to Senior Scientist over a six-year period (tenure-track-equivalent).
Successful candidates will develop an independent research program with extramural funding. Applications across the spectrum of cancer biology are encouraged, with emphasis on functional and mechanistic research towards development of future therapies. Examples include but are not limited to aging, inflammation, cellular stress, functional genomics, structural biology, and chemical biology. Use of novel research platforms and technologies will be prioritized, complementing institutional expertise and resources in genomics, proteomics, computational and structural biology, immunology and high-throughput biology, supported by cutting-edge research core facilities.
