The Role:
We have an immediate opening for a Scientific Writer in Richmond, BC. You will work closely with our Executive and Business Development teams, managing the creation and delivery of high-quality, technical marketing collateral to reach new and existing customers in multiple countries, multiple industries, and across our full product line. This is a new position with opportunities to mentor and develop yourself and others, with advancement opportunities as the team and company continue to grow.

We invent, design, and build advanced lithium recovery and desalination water treatment plants for global customers while also researching and developing next-generation technologies. Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in a STEM discipline, with physical sciences or engineering preferred. Further qualifications in marketing, communications, or technical writing are an asset.
  • 3 years of technical writing experience. Demonstrated project management of the creation of external facing visual and written materials is an asset. Experience in a cleantech, engineering, or other industrial environment is also an asset.
  • Extensive portfolio clearly demonstrating previous work.
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication in English.
  • Experience managing and mentoring colleagues and/or sourcing and managing external contractors would be an asset.
Assets:
  • Graphics design skills including experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Good knowledge of basic chemistry.
  • Proficiency with WordPress and/or experience managing web content.
  • Demonstrated passion for cleantech and emerging technologies.
  • Talent for identifying and creating engaging web content with strategic search engine optimization (SEO) in mind.
  • Ability to source and liaise with third-party contractors, as needed.
  • Experience managing digital advertising campaigns.
  • Enthusiasm and experience with public speaking, e.g., in conferences, webinars, factory tours, etc.
  • Experience writing innovation grant proposals or performing grant administration.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and project manage informative, technical collateral/promotional materials, both online and printed, while helping to ensure quality and consistency across multiple platforms.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision for internal and external team-mates
  • Attending conferences and trade events to engage potential leads and share technical information.
