Job Description



LifeLearn is actively seeking a full-time Scientific Writer to join our dynamic team of creators. The Scientific Writers are a part of the award-winning Industry Solutions Team at LifeLearn. The Industry Solution team has a broad range of skills in design, medical illustration, science writing, video creation, web design, campaign branding and much more. We provide creative solutions to our clients in animal health industries. The Scientific Writer is involved in all aspects of scientific content development and deployment for the education of veterinary professionals and pet owners. The role will involve medical research, creative input, composition, editorial expertise, coordination of content development by subject matter experts, and quality assurance. It also requires ongoing awareness of issues and trends within the veterinary industry, recognition of relevance for veterinary professionals and pet owners, and a responsibility to keep team members informed and up to-date.
Responsibilities:

  • Capacity to absorb new material quickly
  • Effectively brainstorm with other members of the Creative team (designers, illustrators) to generate ideas and creative concepts
  • Research and compose educational content that is medically and scientifically accurate, relevant to the target audience, and aligned in style and tone with the respective products
  • Work with subject matter experts to coordinate the completion of specialized content, to translate, write, edit and/or proof data in client delivered documents
  • Participate in quality control review for documents written by other writers when requested
  • Translate complex scientific information into clear, concise, and accurate language that can be understood by marketing teams, vet techs, and/or the general public.
  • Establish a connection with the client beyond one’s project, to support trusted partnerships and help gain repeat business
  • Build expertise in LifeLearn’s educational products in order to craft appropriate content, and advise on correct usage/access of the product content by the LifeLearn team and clients

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree (advanced degrees preferred) and 3-5 years of relevant experience in medical writingHighly refined written and oral communication skills
  • Highly refined written and oral communication skills
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude that thrives in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities and timelines
  • Demonstrated time and project management skills
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
  • Previous experience/knowledge in Veterinary science is an asset
  • Proficient in a Mac or PC platform
  • Proficient MS Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Experience using Adobe Suite is an asset
  • Experience using project management software (Monday.com) an asset
