The SchoolsPlus Clinician will practice the principles and philosophy of CAPA (Choice and Partnership Approach) in all areas of position responsibility. With a focus on providing early identification and intervention for mental health and addictions issues, the clinician will provide evidence based individual and family therapy as well as group interventions, referrals to the Mental Health and Addictions Services, a bridge to support reintegration to school following treatment and Mental Health/Addictions education and consultation to school staff. The clinician will integrate prevention and health promotion into clinical practice, provide input into programming and participate in evaluation research.
Services will be provided throughout the year, including summer vacation and other school holidays, based on the identified needs of the client population, the school system and the IWK MHA Program.Hours of WorkMonday to Friday; 8:30am - 4:30pm.
