The school counsellor will provide one-on-one and small group counselling for students and will provide programming to educate students on overall well-being.

Specific

duties

Perform short term counselling and crisis intervention for students as needed Provide programming to educate students regarding well-being issues Consult with teachers and explore possible strategies and solutions for the concerns that arise to support students Maintain confidential records of interactions with students Guidance for teachers in identifying students who may require additional support and intervention Identify areas of concern with students and develop strategies to improve the interactions between students To implement restorative justice procedures following discipline incidents To meet regularly with the counselling team and school base team To act as a coordinated and integrated support team to meet individual needs To act as a coordinated and integrated support team to meet group or grade level needs To facilitate communication with parents from the integrated support team to offer consistent and coordinated advice in supporting their children

QualificationsMasters in Counselling or equivalent Registered Counsellor, RCC or CCC Teaching experience, certified teacher will be an asset Christian counselling or perspective courses will be an asset

Salary

range
$56,016 - $100,902


(Dependent on education, qualifications, and experience; pro-rated for part-time employees)
