Job Description

The Hungry Hippo is looking for a School Age Educator to support our summer program. The position could be expanded to support our before and after program in the new school year.



Creating and implementing program planning. Implementation of structure and routine Fostering children's growth and development daily Providing communication to children's parents/guardians daily Assisting and encouraging hygiene of each child according to their needs (diapering and washing) Interacting in an encouraging and positive manner to promote engagement and opportunities. Complete daily cleaning tasks as directed via log sheet to maintain a clean, friendly classroom Attend monthly staffing meetings
Training is provided on policies and procedures, classroom expectations and routine

Requirements

Flexibility to work between the hours of 6:30am to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday CPR "C" First Aid certified Provide a clear criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening
Preferred Qualifications

Registered Early Childhood Education Diploma & good status with CECE Experience working with children Experience with program planning Experience creating and directing activities for children
The Hungry Hippo is conveniently located on the East side of Owen Sound, close to schools, retailers, and restaurants.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: $23.86 per hour
