This position works with the scheduling team and directly with project managers, discipline representatives, estimators, and Transmission Management by assisting on the creation, updating and adjustment of project schedules throughout the lifecycle of the project process within the project server database. The Scheduler assists with set up of the schedule and supports the project manager in identifying critical path activities while utilizing the enterprise server to support project progress reporting and status updates directly on the server.

What You Get to Do:

  • Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules throughout the project lifecycle
  • Analyze and identify risks of delays, conflicts or slippages within schedule
  • Assist with creating, compiling and producing project status reports and charts showing trends, current status, slipped milestones, upcoming milestones
  • Adjust schedule and milestones to align with approved solutions
  • Update project team regarding project status, slippage or changes to milestones
  • Develop baseline and manage project progress S-curves and apply cost loading
  • Assist in the automation of reporting tools where applicable or required
  • Make recommendations to standard practices and templates
  • Analyze completed projects to identify gaps in scheduling practice and standard durations
  • Identify opportunities to improve & adjust schedule template duration accordingly
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a technical or business diploma from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution or
  • 5 years of experience in scheduling, planning of projects and resources, construction, project management or working in a utility field environment
  • Utility field experience would be considered an asset
  • Organizational skills that demonstrate the ability to resolve conflicting priorities
  • The ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
