Van Pile is seeking a dedicated P6 Scheduler/Project Coordinator to join our team. This role offers a dynamic environment for growth and development, providing the opportunity to work on challenging projects in a supportive and collaborative setting.Position Details:This is an anticipated 18-month full-time role in Prince Rupert with a 21/7-day rotation on a 10-hour shift. Accommodation and travel expenses will be covered.Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the management of construction work programs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to plans, designs, and project specifications.
  • Prepare progress reports and risk assessments.
  • Assist in managing procurement and logistics of projects, including contracts, variations, direct labor, plant, and equipment.
  • Identify and advise the Project Director promptly of conditions that may affect the project scope or the client\'s interests.
  • Provide input into the design process and/or construction methods.
  • Review and comment on changes in specifications, plans, work techniques, and materials.
  • Verify that all completed work conforms to applicable codes and project specifications, drawings, and standards.
  • Perform field management duties as assigned by the Project Director.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety & Environment.
  • Develop detailed master schedules outlining work sequences to ensure project competitiveness and feasibility.
  • Update and maintain project schedules, incorporating resource and cost loading data as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to align baseline schedules with budget estimates and identify productivity analysis opportunities.
  • Analyze project performance against critical paths and implement corrective actions to prevent schedule delays.
  • Provide timely and informed schedule information to Project Managers, including trends, forecasts, progress updates, and planning input.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • University degree in Engineering or a construction-related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in construction, ideally in a similar role on oil and gas projects.
  • Currently registered or eligible to register with APEGBC as an E.I.T.
  • Experience with heavy construction projects is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Primavera P6 Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in using Primavera P6 for project scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking.
  • Clear English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a remote location for extended periods and varying schedules in support of site operational needs, including occasional night or weekend work.
  • Familiarity with litigation/claims management is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess schedule impacts and project completion effects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple schedules, resolve conflicts, and understand complex construction sequences.
  • Knowledge of cost/schedule integration and earned value management.
  • Experience with Project Controls and Cost Control is preferred.
