Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Weigh in and weigh out all trucks entering or leaving the landfill or transfer station. Set up new trucks in the system and issue truck permits. Provide accurate information for customer billing and prepare reports for customers and management. Verify the accuracy of hauls and disposal for third-party hauling payments. Act as site buyer recording, tracking, uploaded invoices and generating purchase orders when required. Communicate any relevant community information to landfill management. Test scales daily to ensure accuracy. Ensure waste is disposed of in designated areas and maintain accurate grid reports. Complete assigned environmental compliance tasks accurately and on time.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent. One (1) to three (3) months of related experience and/or training. Previous customer service experience preferred. Strong computer application skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret basic graphs. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills. Proficient in basic computer applications and data entry.

Physical and Mental Demands

Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, use hands and fingers, talk, and hear. Visual acuity required for close and distance work. Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles. Moderate to loud noise levels typical of material recovery station environments.
