About the Role



We're looking for a motivated, customer-focused Scale Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll install, certify, and maintain weighing systems at customer sites while making sure everything meets Measurement Canada standards.

You'll be the go-to person for our clients--handling repairs, solving technical issues, and providing advice to keep their systems running smoothly. This is a hands-on job with plenty of variety, independence, and room to grow your technical skills.

Key Responsibilities



Service & Repair

Install, maintain, and repair a variety of weighing systems and scales at customer sites. Perform field audits, calibrations, and routine inspections to ensure accuracy and reliability. Diagnose and resolve technical issues independently or in coordination with senior technicians.

Compliance & Reporting

Complete "Legal for Trade" certification as a Measurement Canada Accredited Technician. Prepare accurate service reports to clients and inspection reports to Measurement Canada.

Customer Support

Provide professional guidance to clients on safe operation and preventative maintenance of equipment. Respond to urgent service calls with a calm, solution-focused approach. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through reliable, high-quality service.

Training

Participate in company training programs to stay current with regulatory and technical requirements.

Assist in developing training materials, SOPs, and technical resources.

Deliver hands-on training and mentorship to apprentices or new technicians when required.

Support the implementation of new training initiatives across the team

Safety & Inventory

Maintain a clean, organized work area and company equipment. Uphold all company safety standards, policies, and training requirements. Manage parts and equipment inventory with accuracy and accountability.

Required Qualifications

Eligible to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) within the required timeframe. Valid Class 5 driver's license. Ability to transfer or obtain ASP Non-Automatic Weighing Device System Certification. Previous experience as a Measurement Canada Authorized Service Provider (Class III NAWDS preferred). Proficiency with company software, online collaboration tools, and cloud-based platforms for scheduling, reporting, and inventory tracking. Skilled in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with the ability to learn new digital tools quickly. Experience with ERP systems (Maximo preferred). Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Responsible, organized, and detail-oriented with a high degree of accountability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage customer concerns professionally. Physically capable of safely lifting and moving up to 50 lbs regularly.

Preferred / Assets

Valid forklift certification. Experience in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Hands-on experience in industrial scale repair and calibration.

Salary range: $41 - $45 per hour
