Jardeg is recruiting a Scaffolder Inspector for Heartland Construtctors Inc. to join the CNRL Albian Maintenance project team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a permanent, full-time positions on 7 days on, 7 days off shift rotation on day shifts. Camp accommodations and charter flights (from Calgary or Edmonton) are provided by the company. 12-hour shifts.

Scaffolders erect and dismantle temporary metal scaffolding structures on building sites so that other people can safely and securely work at heights and carry out their jobs. Safety is always a top priority, and inspectors are responsible for inspection of standing scaffold in all areas.

  • Ensure that all scaffolding required in the operating plant is installed safely in accordance with the industry standards as per the approved company procedure.
  • Inspect and certify quality of scaffolding materials to ensure the comply with the correct company standards.
  • Capable of understanding and verifying erection of scaffolding as per drawings.
  • Ensure Scaff tags are signed and kept up to date with the relevant information.
  • Able to provide valuable input on incident investigations with respect to the integrity of the scaffolding.
  • Maintain a record of the condition of all scaffolding materials and ensure that they are maintained correctly.
  • Practice safe and secure scaffold access without compromising on safety.
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and supervision to ensure expectations are met.
  • Ensure scaffolds are erected to site requirements, material specifications and CSA standards.
  • Safe work practices in the industrial environment with knowledge of Task Hazard Assessments.
  • Fully competent with assembling, dismantling, and modifying System (Layer/Ring Lock) and Tube & Clamp scaffolds.
  • Knowledge of isometric drawings an asset.
  • Able to work alone with minimal to no supervision.
  • Able to work at heights in all types of weather.
Minimum requirements
  • Proof of hours (Over 6400 hours+) upon request or an accepted Journeyperson Ticket.
  • Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection - OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified
  • Confined Space Entry - OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified
  • Basic computer skills asset, experience with Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scaffold Certificate affiliation is preferred.
  • Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities.
