Soleterra d'Italia, part of the Sunterra Group of Companies, is a leading producer of premium salami, ham, and dry-cured meats. Operating from our state-of-the-art facility in Acme, Alberta, we are committed to excellence in food safety, quality, and efficiency. As our company continues to grow, we are seeking skilled Machine Operators with experience in stuffing, slicing, and other meat processing equipment.

Position Summary

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining various machines used in our meat processing facility. This role is essential to ensuring efficient production while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Stuffing Machine Operation:

Set up and operate stuffer & clipper machines to portion, fill, and seal meat products efficiently.

Ensure consistent casing, weight accuracy, and correct product specifications.

Slicing Machine Operation:

Operate Textor Slicer and other slicing equipment to achieve precise cuts.

Adjust machine settings to maintain quality and minimize waste.

General Machine Operation:

Perform minor troubleshooting and basic maintenance to keep machines running smoothly.

Work closely with maintenance teams for repairs and preventive maintenance.

Quality Control & Food Safety:

Conduct regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.

Follow HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the production area.

Team Collaboration & Efficiency:

Work closely with supervisors and production teams to meet daily production targets.

Assist in cross-training and learning new equipment as needed.

Qualifications

Experience operating stuffing and/or slicing machines in a meat processing or food manufacturing environment. General experience with other food production equipment is an asset. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and GMP standards is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications. Flexibility to work different shifts, including overtime as required.

Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
