Join our team as a Development Lead and play a crucial role in our digital transformation journey at TELUS. As a member of the SAP & Enterprise Shared Services team, you will be responsible for leading the development aspects of our SAP projects, focusing on leveraging new ABAP technologies, such as Steampunk, and driving innovation through the implementation of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) solutions. You will contribute to the modernization of our infrastructure, with a focus on ECC to S/4HANA migration, Fiori, user experience rollout, security, and enhancing the overall development capabilities of our SAP landscape.

What you'll do
Lead the development team in designing, developing, and implementing custom solutions using ABAP programming language and new ABAP technologies, such as RAP / Steampunk.
Drive the adoption of SAP Fiori and user experience best practices, enhancing the usability and user interface of SAP applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders, to define technical solutions and project requirements.
Utilize expertise in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) to design and implement innovative solutions, leveraging its services and capabilities.
Drive the development and implementation of user experience improvements, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for end-users.
Collaborate with SAP security teams to define and implement security policies and access controls for SAP applications.
Contribute to the ECC to S/4HANA migration project, providing technical expertise and ensuring a successful transition for custom developments.
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ABAP development, new ABAP technologies, SAP BTP, and Fiori, and provide recommendations for their adoption.
Mentor and coach developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the development team.
Collaborate with vendors and partners to evaluate and select appropriate technologies and solutions for SAP development and innovation.
Qualifications
What you bring
10+ years of experience in SAP development roles, with a focus on ABAP programming and development leadership.
Strong expertise in ABAP programming language and development tools, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality code.
In-depth knowledge of new ABAP technologies, such as RAP, Steampunk, and their application in developing innovative solutions.
Experience with SAP Fiori and user experience design principles, with a focus on enhancing usability and user interface.
Proficiency in SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services, such as SAP Cloud Platform Integration or SAP Analytics Cloud.
Familiarity with SAP security concepts and best practices, including role-based access controls and authorization management.
Experience with ECC to S/4HANA migration projects, particularly in relation to custom development considerations.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices, including Agile and DevOps.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Great-to-haves
Certification in SAP ABAP development or related technologies.
Experience with SAP BTP services, such as SAP Cloud Platform Integration or SAP Integration Suite.
Knowledge of SAP Fiori elements and UI development technologies.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes to support deploying and managing applications effectively on TELUS Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) and SAP Business Application Studio.
Understanding of SAP security principles and best practices.
Experience with other SAP modules and functionalities, such as SAP CRM, SCM, or SRM.

Salary Range: $95,000-$143,000
Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 15%
