WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO DO IN THIS ROLE?

You will:



- Portray Santa Claus in full costume during the Alight at Night program


- Engage visitors, predominantly children, with appropriate Santa Claus-related dialogue, pose for photographs, and ensure a positive and memorable experience


- Work evenings and weekends in November and December


- Embody the SLPC's equity, diversity and inclusion principles while interacting with staff and guests.

HOW DO I QUALIFY?

MANDATORY:

- Conditional upon successful candidate being granted required security clearance for this position (Vulnerable Service Sector check).


- The ability to work evenings and weekends.




KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

- The ability to portray Santa Claus.


- Knowledge of the history of Santa Claus and his role during the holiday/Christmas season.


- Knowledge of current children's gifts and toys.


- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act as it pertains to the work being performed.




CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

You have:

- Excellent customer service and communications skills to communicate and interact effectively with children and adults.




TIME MANAGEMENT AND TEAMWORK SKILLS

You have:

- The ability to work independently and in a team.


- The ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.


- Strong time management skills to monitor and adjust the amount of interaction with each visitor in order to maintain visitor flow and prevent lengthy wait times.




OTHER SKILLS

You have:

- The ability to interact with dogs and cats for the purpose of taking photographs, if required.
