Sanitation SupervisorFull time - PermanentLocation: Tab Labs Head Office & Plant - Langley, BCThe OpportunityTab Labs currently has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Sanitation Supervisor, reporting to our Maintenance Manager. The role is responsible for the cleanliness of the facility and ensuring that all food safety regulations are met while following GMP guidelines and all internal SOP(s)..   • Responsible for plant cleanliness, food safety, quality, and compliance with legal regulations - as defined in departmental procedures.
  • Ensure all sanitation department staff are following proper safety procedures, using PPE correctly, and following WHIMIS regulations.
  • Organize and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all assigned work activities are carried out in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
  • Carry out cleaning validation for different areas of the production site based on the raw materials being used in that area.
  • Ensure that all sanitation department equipment and systems (central systems, recycling area, chemical storage, etc) are functioning properly and kept in good order. Ensure that all sanitation employees adhere to preventative monitoring programs.
  • Liaise with the maintenance department and/or external suppliers for facility and sanitation equipment repairs.
  • Develop, review, and revise sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) in conjunction with quality team.
  • Train sanitation crew on maintaining the sanitation program.
  • Ensures that Company and Sanitation department daily objectives are achieved in a timely manner, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures.
  • Liaise with department supervisors to ensure cleaning can be completed without overlapping production schedules.
  • Perform all technical verification procedures, such as chemical titrating; water temperature and pressure checks; chemical labelling, and accurately completes documentation on sanitation records.
  • Collaborate with quality department to ensure proper allergen cleaning validation before releasing areas for production. Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments including production to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting sanitation.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of personalities in a dynamic environment.
  • Identify and implement measures to continuously improve sanitation methods.
  • Maintain cleaning supply and equipment inventory and place supply orders in an accurate and timely manner.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience in sanitation role, preferably GMP and/or food/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemicals used in food and nutraceutical industry.
  • General computer skills (MS Office).
