Job Description

: The Sanitation Manager oversees all sanitation activities within a 3-shift food manufacturing operation, ensuring the facility consistently meets food safety, quality, and cleanliness standards. This role is responsible for leading the sanitation team across all shifts, maintaining sanitation schedules, managing compliance with SQF and regulatory standards, and supporting a safe, efficient, and organized production environment.

Responsibilities:



Maintain a clean, organized facility at all times. Understand the requirements and hold personnel accountable to food safety standards. Ensure that all sanitation personnel are fully trained on the handling of chemicals, safety of the equipment they are instructed to clean and use for cleaning Control and coordinate all sanitation supplies, ordering on time and maintaining inventory at the agreed upon levels Ensure the staff are informed of all Health and Safety procedures in the area they are working in

Qualifications



3-5 years of sanitation management experience in a baking or food manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of SQF, GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams across multiple shifts. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, CIP systems, and allergen control procedures. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

3 shift, 5&6 day operations. Shift: 5am-2pm but requires flexibility to be present for all shifts. Lead and oversee sanitation efforts across all shifts to ensure the plant is thoroughly clean and well-maintained in every area. Lead the planning and execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule, ensuring all areas are maintained to company and food safety standards. Ensure timely and effective deep cleaning of all equipment and production areas to meet food safety and hygiene standards. Manage overtime, labor scheduling, and staffing requirements for all sanitation shifts. Oversee the hiring, on boarding, and training of sanitation employees. Implement and maintain pest control treatment schedules in coordination with approved vendors. Ensure all sanitation schedules and records are completed accurately and on time. Verify that all tools and equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained according to bakery sanitation standards and allergen control requirements. Develop new Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure and update existing ones as necessary Train employees on sanitation SOPs, chemical handling, and safety protocols. Ensure the safety of employees through proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout, and safe work practices. Monitor and maintain the plant's grease interceptor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Manage uniform programs, including laundering schedules and distribution. Prepare and maintain documentation for SQF audits, customer inspections, and internal reviews. Collaborate with other sanitation managers across facilities to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
