Job Description

The position of Sandblaster includes, but is not limited to, removing dirt, rust, scale and paint from metal equipment and components using sandblasting equipment. Prefer one year experience but will provide training if needed.

The shift is Monday-Thursday, 10 hour shifts.

Job Duties



Clean and refurbish metal and industrial equipment using sandblasting, pressurized steam or hydroblasting equipment Abrade surfaces of metal/hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment Shovel or pour abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading action Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met Follow company policy and procedures and government legislation, including adherence to proper health and safety standards and use of personal protective equipment. Ensure that process is completed within set timeframes, and work as a member of multidisciplinary team to ensure products are finished by set deadline. Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements



High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Prefer one year experience but will provide training if needed Ability to work independently in a busy environment. Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment. Able to work well under pressure Strong attention to detail Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

Work Conditions



Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Constant light physical effort (bending, reaching, carrying light items, walking, standing) Regular heavy physical effort (carrying, lifting or pushing heavy items) Occasionally required to deal with simultaneous multiple demands which must be attended to immediately Work occasionally requires attention to detail, subject to frequent interruptions that require immediate attention. Occasional peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace over which you have no control, or deadlines creating pressure Job is regularly highly repetitive and includes monotonous tasks Overtime as required. Hazards associated with a manufacturing environment Unpleasant conditions such as dust, dirt and fumes Work both indoors and outdoors.
