The Salon Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the salon. This includes supervising staff, managing daily schedules, supporting hiring efforts, coordinating events and promotions, and maintaining a high-quality client experience.

You will work closely with the owner to execute plans, introduce new systems, and help elevate the overall salon environment.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day salon operations, including scheduling, staffing, and workflow coordination to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction. Lead, motivate, and supervise a diverse team of stylists, receptionists, and support staff to deliver outstanding service. Oversee retail sales activities, including merchandising, product pricing, inventory control, and promotional marketing efforts. Handle customer inquiries professionally by phone or in person, ensuring a positive experience that encourages repeat business. Maintain accurate payroll records, manage cash handling procedures, and ensure compliance with all financial policies including bookkeeping and POS (Point of Sale) systems. Conduct employee orientation sessions, training & development programs, and performance evaluations to foster growth and excellence within the team. Monitor store cleanliness, safety standards, and supply inventory levels to ensure a welcoming environment for clients and staff alike. Implement effective marketing strategies to attract new clients while retaining existing ones through exceptional service delivery.

Requirements

Proven management experience in a retail or service-oriented environment; previous assistant manager or supervisory roles are highly valued. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse clientele. Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, cash handling, and retail math. Experience with employee recruitment, interviewing techniques, training & development initiatives. Knowledge of budgeting processes, sales management strategies, pricing policies, and merchandising practices. Ability to lead teams effectively through supervision experience in retail sales or store management roles. Familiarity with marketing tactics relevant to retail or salon environments; experience with wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous.
