Job Summary

The Sales Support Associate helps provide an enjoyable shopping experience for our customers by helping maintain a clean and safe environment, maintaining shopping cart corrals and ensuring a plentiful supply of clean shopping carts and baskets, providing carry-out and carry-in services and generally assisting customers with directions and inquiries.

asks and Responsibilities

Meet, greet and thank customers, providing them with friendly, prompt and informed service

Maintain cleanliness and safety of parking lot, store entrances and exits and customer and employee bathrooms

Ensure shopping cart corrals are stocked with clean shopping carts and basket areas are have clean baskets

Ensure that shopping carts in parking lot are returned promptly to the in-store corrals

Provide customer carry-out or carry-in services as requested

Assist customers with directions and inquiries

Assist customers with propane sales

Handle dangerous goods and hazardous products according to prescribed safe operating procedures and use required personal protection equipment, for example a safety vest when working outside

Maintain a professional appearance (uniform, hygiene, grooming & name tag)

Follow corporate, store and department policies

Follow store health & safety program and observe provincial occupational health & safety regulations; report any observed or potential hazards immediately

Participate in meetings and all training as required, developing and maintaining product, operations and health & safety knowledge through eLearning and other resources

Complete other tasks as required for the efficient operation of the store

Physical Demands (refers to an 8-hour shift with standard breaks)

Able to lift 25 kilos or 50 lbs unassisted and carry as required

Able to stand for a period of 8 hours

Able to be constantly moving for a period of 8 hours

Able to bend/reach for a period of 8 hours

Able to twist, turn, reach and work above shoulder level

Able to go up and down a ladder while carrying merchandise

Ability to walk and carry at same time and push/pull as required

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 40 per week
