McHugh Painting is seeking a driven, personable, and results-oriented
Sales Manager
to lead our sales efforts and help fuel continued growth across the Waterloo, Kitchener, and Cambridge region. The ideal candidate thrives in a customer-focused environment, understands the home-services or construction industry, and excels at building strong, long-term relationships.
This role plays a key part in shaping our sales strategy, developing new business, and delivering an exceptional client experience from the first contact to the signed estimate. You will oversee the sales pipeline, mentor the sales team, and represent McHugh Painting as the face of our brand in the community.
Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to expand market reach and grow revenue.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
Analyze market trends, client needs, and seasonal demand to identify new business opportunities.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Conduct outside sales activities including in-home consultations, site visits, B2B meetings, and networking events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with residential and commercial clients through excellent communication and service.
Manage key accounts and ensure clients receive high-quality follow-up and project support.
Prepare and deliver professional presentations outlining McHugh Painting's services, process, and value.
Quoting & Deal Closing
Oversee the estimate-to-close process using our internal platforms (e.g., PaintScout).
Negotiate pricing and project timelines while ensuring customer satisfaction.
Work closely with the operations team to schedule accepted projects efficiently.
Team & Performance Management
Monitor sales performance metrics and provide regular reports to leadership.
Collaborate with marketing to align sales initiatives with seasonal campaigns and lead-generation efforts.
Networking & Community Presence
Attend weekly BNI meetings as the McHugh Painting representative.
Participate in networking events outside regular business hours to grow brand presence.
Qualifications
Proven experience in sales management or outside sales, preferably within the home-services, construction, or related field.
Strong understanding of business development and local market dynamics.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships.
Proficiency in conducting site visits, developing estimates, and managing client expectations.
Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation abilities.
Ability to analyze sales data and convert insights into actionable decisions.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
A proactive problem-solver with a professional and friendly demeanor.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00-$47,000.00 per year
